Travel Directions

By Car

From North of Philadelphia Follow I-95 South to Exit 22.
Take 676 West/Central Philadelphia Exit. Follow 676 West to the first exit, which is Broad Street/Central Philadelphia. This exit will bring you onto 15th Street. Continue on 15th Street until you see City Hall on your left. Bear left around City Hall. Make a right at the first light, which is Broad Street. Take Broad Street two blocks to Sansom Street. Make a right onto Sansom. The Midtown Parking Garage is on the right. The entrance to The Union League is directly across the street on the left. Look for the blue awning. This entrance should be used for The Inn at The League.

From South of Philadelphia Follow I-95 North to Exit 22.

From East of Philadelphia Benjamin Franklin Bridge to 676 West/Central Philadelphia Exit.Get on 676 West, then take the first exit, which is Broad Street/Central Philadelphia. This exit will bring you onto 15th Street. Continue on 15th Street until you see City Hall on your left. Bear left around City Hall. Make a right at the first light, which is Broad Street. From West of Philadelphia Take the PA Turnpike to Exit 326, which is the Valley Forge Exit. When you exit, take 76 East to Exit 344, which is 676 East/Central Philadelphia Exit. Take the second exit, which is Broad Street/Central Philadelphia. Stay in the right hand lane as you exit. Make a right at the light, which is 15th Street. Continue on 15th Street until you see City Hall on your left. Bear left around City Hall. Make a right at the first light, which is Broad Street. Take Broad Street two blocks to Sansom Street. Make a right onto Sansom. The Midtown Parking Garage is on the right. The entrance to The Union League is directly across the street on the left. Look for the blue awning. From New Jersey Turnpike Take Turnpike to Exit 4.
Take NJ Route 73 North, follow onto NJ-90West which becomes Betsy Ross Bridge. Exit bridge onto I-95 South to I-676 West to Central Philadelphia, and follow directions from East of Philadelphia.

From the Airport

The Philadelphia International Airport is located in the Southwest section of the city, approximately twenty minutes from the University of Pennsylvania campus and 30 minutes from Center City.

Visitors driving from the airport should take I-95 North to the I-676/Center City Philadelphia exit, which is approximately seven miles North of the airport. Follow I-676 West (the Vine Street Expressway) to the first exit which is Broad Street/Central Philadelphia.   Follow directions from South of Philadelphia

Convenient train service from the airport to Suburban Station is available through SEPTA's Airport Express Train (R1) which leaves every half-hour. The fare is $5.50 (subject to change), and the trip takes approximately twenty-five minutes. Suburban Station is about a five minute walk east on JFK Blvd to Broad Street.

A metered cab ride from the airport to campus generally costs $25, not including tip, and takes approximately 20 minutes.

Train Service

Take Amtrak's Northeast Corridor to 30th Street Station. For more information about Amtrak, log onto www.amtrak.com or call (800) USA-RAIL. Students with a Student Advantage card save 15% when purchasing an Amtrak ticket. Frequent service is offered to Northeastern cities including Boston, New York, Baltimore, and Washington. For cost-conscious students traveling from New York or New Jersey, NJ Transit and SEPTA offer a more affordable ticket ($37 roundtrip). Take NJ Transit to Trenton. At Trenton, transfer to SEPTA.

Philadelphia Public Transportation

Philadelphia's mass transit system is SEPTA, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. SEPTA operates a coordinated system of bus, subway, elevated train, and trolley lines that covers all of Philadelphia and parts of the surrounding counties. Exact change ($2.00) or a token is required. Weekly and monthly SEPTA TransPasses are also available. Both TransPasses and tokens can be purchased on campus at the Penn Book Store.
