Sharon L. Allen, Chairman, Deloitte & Touche.
Sharon L. Allen is Chairman of the US Board of Directors of Deloitte & Touche. In this position, she leads the firm's governance process, serves as the US representative on the organization's Global Governance Committee, Chairs the firm's Global Risk Management Committee, and oversees the firm's relationships with a number of major multinational clients.
Prior to being elected Chairman, Sharon was Managing Partner of the firm's Pacific Southwest practice where she had responsibility for offices in Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, San Diego, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Reno.
In addition to her role as Chairman, and as a member of the US and Global Boards of Directors, Sharon has also served on the firm's Nominating Committee, Structure Committee, and the Client Service Standards Task Force.
Sharon has more than 30 years of audit and consulting experience in various industries. Some of her clients include Albertson's Inc., The Boeing Company, Computer Science Corp., Dole Food Company, Harrah's Entertainment, Health Net, Inc., Lucent Technologies and Washington Mutual Inc.
Sharon is a frequent speaker and panelist on the topics of governance, human resources, and international commerce. She has contributed to the Economic Club of Chicago, UCLA Andersen School Corporate Governance Conference, The Milken Global Economic Conference, The Economist CEO/CFO Governance Conference, the Women's Economic Club of Detroit, the Darden School Leadership Series, and the Johns Hopkins Ginder Lecture Series on Global Business.
Sharon is a Director for The Foundation for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and a member of the Women's Leadership Board at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
In addition, she is a board member of United Way of Greater Los Angeles, Town Hall Los Angeles, YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, and serves as Chairman of the Independent Colleges of Southern California.
She has received numerous awards for her business and community leadership, including selection as a Woman of the Year for the New York City Police Athletic League, one of the 50 Women to Watch by Wall St. Journal, and an honorary doctorate in Administrative Science from her alma mater, the University of Idaho.
