Wharton Women in Business Conference
The annual Wharton Women in Business Conference provides a unique opportunity for Wharton MBA students and alumnae to come together and hear from distinguished speakers who are leaders across the business, political, and non-profit fields. This year's Conference, entitled Vertical Horizon: Inspiring the Next Generation Onward and Upward, will feature women who have made significant inroads in the global marketplace and forged unique paths to leadership. The panelists and keynote speakers include women who have explored "new frontiers", experienced the highs of Wall Street, creatively shaped the media and luxury goods worlds, and used their leadership skills to achieve business success, personal fulfillment, and inspire leadership in others. Participating in the Conference allows current Wharton students and alumnae to share their experiences and engage in active discussion about future careers, the meaning of personal success, and leadership across many forums.
The Conference will be held Thursday and Friday, November 3-4, 2005 at the Union League of Philadelphia. On Thursday evening, November 3rd, we will kick off the event with a celebratory cocktail hour and opportunity for networking with alumnae. Friday's sessions will include inspirational keynote speakers and exciting panels and workshops with representatives from a diverse array of industries and professional functions. Throughout the conference, companies will be hosting private tea sessions to facilitate one-on-one interaction between company recruiters and MBA students. The Conference day will close with a Career Fair and a closing cocktail hour.
The WWIB Conference is sponsored by the Wharton Women in Business club ("WWIB"), a professional organization that strives to enhance the Wharton experience for all MBA women and foster camaraderie in the Wharton community. A key focus of the organization is to enhance women's professional development by providing opportunities for career exploration, networking, and personal development. WWIB members are working to strengthen the connection among alumnae and between current students and alumnae. WWIB also coordinates activities in admissions. |
